The Return of Jesus Christ-Part 1

The Rapture

In the epistle to Titus, chapter 2 verse 13 the Apostle Paul writes, “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ. This scripture gives the Christian the hope of the return of the Lord Jesus Christ to receive His own. We look forward to what is known in Christian circles as, the Rapture. The word Rapture does not appear in the King James version of the Bible, but in the Latin text the word rapio appears where we would use the word rapture, which means the great “catching away” of the saints.

Are You A Genuine Christian or an Impostor?

There used to be Holy Spirit filled preachers that preached against sin and warned of the judgment to come and the hell to shun. The messages were powerful and anointed by the Holy Spirit, and God used those messages to convict the hearts of lost people. But today it seems that many claim to be Christians who I doubt even know what it really is to be a true Christian. The consensus among the lost people in today’s society is that everybody is OK and needs nothing from a god. Many are not even sure if there is a heaven or hell, but are convinced that they will go to heaven if there is one. No one will go to hell in their estimation because, as they would say, “God loves everybody and will not send a person to hell fire for eternity”. I would even go so far as to say that few of today’s professing Christians even know God or His dear Son, Jesus Christ.

Sold Out To Jesus

In 1980 a young man from Rwanda was forced by his tribe to either renounce Christ or face certain death. He refused to renounce Christ and he was killed on the spot.

The evening before, he had written the following commitment and nailed it to the wall in his room.

What is the Cause of America’s Decline?

Since the first term of Barrack Hussein Obama’s presidency, it is obvious that America has greatly and swiftly declined spiritually. There are accompanying declinations also, but those are primarily related to political reasons and this article is not addressing anything political. The primary purpose of this writing is to take a closer look at the spiritual decline of America and see if we can understand, Biblically, what is going on. There is a great difference in the spiritual climate now as before the Obama administration took office.

Many are wondering if we are indeed living in the last days. No one denies that we are living in some very strange times. What is going on in our world? There are so many questions that seem to have no clear answer; however, let us take a closer look at some of the strange things that we are dealing with today.

The Weak & Beggarly Jesus

(Another Jesus)

In 2nd Corinthians 11:4, the Apostle Paul says, “For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him”. Notice that the apostle warns in this verse of, “another Jesus”, “another Spirit”, and “another gospel”. He warns us to “well bear” with a preacher that comes preaching another Jesus, etc. To “well bear” means to proceed with caution and beware that the truth may not be found here, hence the warning to “well bear”.

I Know My Rights!

America is all up in the air about the death of yet another black man who died while he was under arrest by police officers. Another similar case was of another black man who was arrested for selling individual cigarettes on the streets to make some money. I believe he was charged with selling non-taxed tobacco products in opposition of the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Laws of the country. In that case several officers took hold of an obese black man and wrestled him down to the ground to handcuff him and secure the arrest. In the melee, the obese black man kept saying, “I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe”. He died in custody to the loud objections of most of the black populace in America. I believe that case resulted in rioting, looting and the burning of private property in the community, and indeed spread to several communities in America.

Letter to A Friend, Burial or Cremation

Dear Friend,

I don’t think it is healthy to dwell on the decaying of the body after death.  It is a fact of life, but it doesn’t thwart the LORD’s plans for our total Salvation.  Here’s what I mean by that. We are a three-part person, created in the image of God, our Creator.  God is a Triune person and we are also triune beings.  Listen closely to the order of this.  We are a spirit; we have a soul and we live in a body.  So, Spirit, Soul, and Body is the composition of our being as created.  I believe that when God saves us, he saves us completely.  Another point to make is that many people get the soul and the spirit mixed up.  But here is the easiest way to look at the difference in these two parts of our makeup.  Our spirit is that part of man that communes with God; that part that can relate and understand God.  After all, we are spirit beings, not physical beings.  This body is just the earthly house that our spirit and soul lives in.  Now back to the spirit and soul.

Our Troubled Republic

We in America do not have a democratic form of government; we have a republic. A republic is a society that is based on the rule of law. Pure and simple, it means that every man should be accountable to all other men through the system of laws that govern our whole society. Our whole system is based on the observance of the laws of the land. But the time has come in our national history that men are not obeying the laws of the land. As a matter of fact, many today are ignoring all laws and doing what they want to do, regardless of what the laws of the republic say.
